Curlew has purchased 153 loft apartments in Arnhem, Netherlands, for €20
million on behalf of the Dutch insurance company, VIVAT N.V.
This forward funding is the latest investment for a separate account mandate into the young
professional and purpose built student housing sector.
Arnhem is one of several targeted cities within the scope of the mandate based on
particularly good underlying market fundamentals for high quality, sustainable housing
aimed at ‘Young Urbans’. The individual loft-style studios will be let at an affordable price
range, targeting this 20-30 year old age group.
The development is part of the large-scale area transformation of the former ING Campus in
Arnhem and will be completed in mid-2021.
This is the second Dutch project under construction for Curlew Netherlands on behalf of
VIVAT; In Groningen, 159 affordable housing mid-segment rental homes for young
professionals are under construction.
